The Insider co-anchor Kevin Frazier was with the Jackson brothers’ as they rehearse for their limited run Planet Hollywood show: “Rocktellz & Cocktails Presents the Jacksons” which debuts February 20th in Las Vegas. Marlon revealed of the 40 show run, “We're going to try to have a party on stage and have everybody get into it on stage and we're going to tell a couple a little stories about we lived with Diana Ross.” Watch the video.

The Jacksons Ready First Album Since '89, With Collaborators and 'New Flavors'

Jackie Jackson is hoping that having the four active Jacksons in one place for the group's upcoming Las Vegas residency will help the troupe finish its long-in-the-making next album.

"I'm so happy all the brothers will be together in Las Vegas. During the day time they can finish recording and then do the shows during the evening time," Jackson, who resides in Sin City, tells Billboard. He reports that he, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon have "quite a bit" of the album finished -- at least half of it, he estimates -- with a hoped-for early summer completion. And the group is happy with the results so far.

The Jacksons are working with a number of contemporary artists and producers, though none are being identified yet. The set will be the first new Jacksons release since 1989's "2300 Jackson Street."

The upcoming stand at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino kicks off Feb. 20, with 40 shows currently on the schedule. Dubbed RockTellz & CockTails, it's an outgrowth of the 2012-2013 Unity Tour, which found the Jacksons on the road together first time since 1984's Victory Tour -- and, obviously, for the first time without Michael Jackson in the lead position and the other brothers covering his parts in the group's songs as well as some of his solo hits.

"We love singing them," Jackie says. "That's our brother, and people want to hear those songs and it's very emotional as well because we try to do the best we can with them. It's kind of a like a tear-jerker moment, but we manage to do OK with it and really enjoy it and people have a great time when we're singing those songs."

"There's going to be a lot of storytelling in this how was well, telling stories that you've never heard before," Jackie promises. Like what? "Ah, I can't let the cat out of the bag," he says with a laugh. "There'll be some significant stories about the Jacksons -- what Michael used to do, what we all did. That's all I can say. But it's gonna be a lot of fun."

The only problem for Jackie Jackson and his brothers in developing a show that looks back at their history through songs and storytelling is there are so many songs and so much story. Rehearsals with Marlon, Tito and Jermaine are a breeze compared to narrowing down the set list and recollections for Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s RockTellz & CockTails Presents The Jacksons. “We’re still working on that. That’s the hardest part to do,” Jackie Jackson said in a late January interview. “We have so many stories and so many songs, and sometimes people want to hear the music and some people want to hear the storytelling as well. We just have to figure out how to make them both happy—tell enough stories but don’t go overboard with stories, and also give them the music they want to hear.”
To that end, The Jacksons plan to mix up the music and mythology during their 40 shows at the PH Showroom, which kick off Feb. 20. “It’s not going to be the same thing every night,” said the eldest Jackson brother. “The set list is really hard, too, because we have so many songs, and so many fans want to hear those songs, and it’s only a 90-minute show. I wish we could be on for three hours, or even four hours, and we have to fit it all into a 90-minute show plus do storytelling. But it’s going to be good.”
Jackson, a Las Vegas resident for the past five years, has a history with the city that goes back to the days when his whole family performed at the old MGM Grand (now Bally’s). Judging from his reaction to the gingerly approached subject of whether he’s still the same dancing machine he was when he towered over Michael and Marlon during the early Jackson 5 days, Jackie and his brothers have every intention of knocking fans out with the show’s choreography as well as their own musical chops. The songs will be drawn from their entire history, with nods to Jermaine and Michael’s solo hits. Still fresh from their last reunion tour, The Jacksons can easily draw on any era from their career, and Jackie says whenever they get back together it’s like they’ve never been apart.
There is one major void, of course. It’s hard to think of “high energy” without thinking of Michael, but his presence will surely be felt by fans while hearing stories of the birth of the Jackson 5, Berry Gordy and Motown, Gladys Knight and Smokey Robinson and Diana Ross, and the road from Soul Train to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. For The Jacksons, it’s more than a reunion for the fans. “Once you get onstage with your brothers, it all just comes back,” he said. “We still all love each other. It comes back. That’s where we were all born, on the stage. It feels great to be back on the stage again.”

SheKnows spoke with Jackie Jackson as The Jacksons prepared for their 40-day Vegas residency. We learned about a "bittersweet" tribute to little brother Michael, and discussed their long life in the limelight.

After 50 years in the business and 25 years since their last album, The Jacksons are leaping further into the limelight once again. SheKnows talked to Jackie Jackson and learned about what we can expect from their 40-night residency in Vegas, news on an upcoming album and more. A little starstruck? Sure. But, we got the news and we're excited to share it with you!

First, on Feb. 20 The Jacksons will kick off a 40 concert stint at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino as part of the resort's Rock Tellz and CockTails series. Each night, the show will feature performances from The Jacksons, as well as plenty of rare or never-before-heard stories from their 50 years of growing up together, working together and performing together. During the show, the brothers — Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon — have planned a special moment to honor one of the youngest members of their family, Michael Jackson. When Jackie and his brothers aren't on stage, they're also working on some new tunes. Despite touring off-and-on for the last couple decades, The Jacksons haven't put out a new album since 1989. According to Jackie, though, the brothers are in the midst of ending that streak. The foursome has been in and out of the recording studio and fans should expect a new album from them soon.

"Of course! We've already started, and now we'll finish up because we're all gonna be together in the same place so we can start working on it once everyone gets here," Jackie shared. "We'll work on the album in the morning and in the afternoon and evening time, we'll do the show."

"That was awesome," Jackie remembered fondly. "We'd never seen a recording studio before and all the things that take place. There's so much to learn about producing and making records. Motown was pretty much like the school, a learning place. They taught us well how to do all that: Produce and write songs. It was like going to a college pretty much. We're hands-on when it comes to stuff like that. We know exactly what to do in the studio, what it takes to make a hit record."

Obwoh wie ich finde die Berichterstattung seitens der Medien recht wohlwollend für die Jackson-Brüder ist scheinen die Leute weiterhin nicht in Strömen die Tickets zu kaufen.

Ich weiß nicht woher Korgnex diesen genauen Ticktestand für die morgige Show hat. Diesen Stand hat er vor ein paar Stunden eingestellt

My ticketing spies tell me that the late Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, is bringing her grandchildren to support The Jacksons in “Rocktellz & Cocktails” when it celebrates its official grand opening this weekend at Planet Hollywood.

Katherine will have Prince Michael Jackson II, aka Blanket, and Michael Jackson Jr. in tow for the debut shows Thursday and Friday ahead of Saturday’s official star-studded red-carpet gala premiere.

I don’t know yet which night Michael’s daughter Paris will be in to see the new music-and-storytelling show that will rotate with Meat Loaf as the headliner in Adam Steck’s production.
