Close friends
Omer Michael Bhatti from Norway started imitating the artist at the age of 8. During a trip to Tunisia in 1996 he befriended the artist, and was later invited to stay at his home Neverland. At the time the time Bhatti was only 12 years old. The two remained close friends right up until the artist's sudden death last year.

- The most important person
At Jackson's funeral, Bhatti was seated in the front row alongside Jackon's children and family. Bhatti has remained silent about their relationship, but in the wake of Jackson's death he released a press statement saying:

– I have lost the most important person in my life. He raised me and made me the person I am today.

- Still part of my life
Since Michael Jackson's death, Omer travels regularly to the United States, and still maintains a close relationship with his children and the rest of the Jackson family.

– It's a huge part of my life and always will be, Bhatti tells TV 2.

Why have you chosen to be so secretive about your relationship to Jackson and his family?

– Everything I do is inspired by him. But at the same time so much of this is private, says Bhatti. This past years, so much has happened. I feel I've been stripped of my private life, and the little I have left, I wish to keep for myself, he tells TV 2.

Hunted by paparazzi
Since Michael Jackson's death, Omer Michael Bhatti has been subject to an enormous amount of interest from international media and paparazzi. Two British tabloids wrote that he was the unknown child of Michael Jackson and sent journalists to Norway to hunt him down.

One of the stories that has outraged him the most was the on-line tabloid radaronline.co who wrote that Bhatti claims to have fathered Michael Jackson's three children.

- I have experienced the ugly face of paparazzis, and this past year things have just gone crazy, says Bhatti. You do an interview and people distort what you say and twist it into something completely different.
Wants to share

Though secretive about his Jackson connection, he also has something he wishes to convey to the world.

- It's hard, because it's such a huge part of my life, but at the same time it's such a private part of my life. What I want to share with the world, I'll share through my music and dancing, says Omer.

Omer Michael Bhatti is currently in Norway to launch his new website obeegalaxy.com under the artist name «O-Bee», and today he gave Norwegian viewers a sneak preview of a rap he performs «with» Michael Jackson in the song «Wanne be Starting Someting» med Michael Jackson.

Tonight, Friday 25th, the Norwegian guy Omer Bhatti, who was a close friend of MJ, is a guest on the talkshow Skavlan, which is being broadcasted tonight (Friday) in Norway and Sweden. There he talked a little bit about his friendship with MJ. I can translate the most essensial parts for you but not the whole article:

Q: What did you think when you got the message about MJ´s death?

A: That´s a little touchy and I´m still dealing with it today. That´s Why I don´t talk about it with anyone, because it´s too hard.
Das ist sehr berührend und ich kämpfe damit bis heute. Darum kann ich bis heute mit niemanden darüber reden, weil es zu hart ist.

OMER: - We have always had a special chemestry. We were very alike as human beings and had the same humour and liked the same kinds of food, music and movies. He (MJ) introduced me to a lot of music and old movies. I can thank him for the evenings when I´m listening to classical music. And I intruduced him to hip-hop. That´s something I´m very proud of.
Wir hatten immer eine spezielle Chemie. Wir waren sehr ähnlich als Menschen und hatten den gleichen Humor und liebten das gleiche Essen, Musik und Filme. Er lehrte mich eine Menge über Musik und alte Filme. Ich kann ihm für die Abende danken wo wir klassiche Musik hörten und ich lehrte ihn Hip-Hop. Das ist etwas worüber ich stolz bin.

Q: Do you get annoyed by all the speculations?
Bist Du verärgert über all die Spekulationen?

A: Of course you get annoyed. When you read in the papers that he bleached his skin, it´s so far from the truth that I get sick just to talk about it. When everyone can see that it´s a disease, an illness, and people still say that he bleached his skin. That I get annoyed about.

Natürlich bist Du verärgert. Wenn Du in einer Zeitung liest, dass er seine Haut bleichte dann ist das so weit von der Wahrheit das ich krank werde nur darüber zu reden. Wenn jeder sehen kann, dass es eine Krankheit ist und Leute sagen weiter das er seine Haut bleichte. Das ist was einen wütend macht.

Q: What did you learn from Michael Jackson?
Was hast Du von Michael Jackson gelernt?

A: I learned so much. First and foremost as a human being. He was such an amazing person. You see the artist but he was even more amazing as a human being.
Ich lernte so viel. Zuerst und am meisten als ein Mensch. Er war so eine wundervolle Person. Du siehst den Künstler aber er war noch wundervoller als ein Mensch.

We danced a lot together. But we also talked a lot about dance. We could sit for hours and watch dancing. It was about feeling the dance, not think so much, just letting the music control you.
Wir tanzten viel zusammen. Aber wir sprachen auch viel über Tanz. Wir konnten Stunden sitzen und uns Tanz ansehen. Es ging darum den Tanz zu fühlen, nicht so viel zu denken, nur die Musik kontrollieren lassen.

The Norwegian man came to the studio with Genevieve Jackson, MJ´s niece, who sings with Bhatti on his new single "All around the world". Last Friday it was known that the 26 year-old has signed an international record deal with Universal, which will launch in 67 countries.

...und Michael war doch schon so unbeschreiblich wundervoll als Künstler..und dann davon noch eine Steigerung...

Das wäre jetzt mal eine Aussage, für all die Leute, die zwar Michaels Kunst respektieren, oder gar bewundern..ihn als Mensch aber eher kritisch betrachten..oder noch schlimmeres...Die könnten da mal drüber nachdenken, was dieser Satz aussagt.

Jetzt habe ich allerdings gerade in IV mit Bhatti entdeckt mit dem er sich bei mir seinen Kredit verspielt.
Ein klares Nein, denn er weiß mit 100%iger Sicherheit, dass es so ist wäre doch die einzige richtige Antwort gewesen. Aber er zieht es vor sich mit diesem Gerücht weiter im Gespräch zu halten
und beschwert sich in anderen bzw. im gleichen IV über Gerüchte, die weiter verbreitet werden.

When Michael Jackson died in June 2009, Norwegian Omer Bhatti, 27, was said to be an unknown son of the late pop star, a claim repeated by Michael's father, Joe Jackson.

Metro Sweden met Bhatti, who is soon launching his own world tour, and asked him about his relationship with Jackson.

This will only lead to speculation in the media so I don’t want to answer that. I understand that people are curious, but such a large part of my life is public that I want to keep some parts of it private.
Das wird nur zu Spekualtionen in den Medien führen, so dass ich nicht antworten möchte. Ich verstehe, dass Leute verwirrt sind, aber solch ein großer Teil meines Privatlebens ist öffentlich, so dass ich einige Teile privat halten möchte.

How come you were in the front row at his memorial?
I don’t want to get into that. That was a surreal moment.

Now you are releasing your first international single, All Around The World, under the name O-Bee, with Genevieve Jackson, the 21-year-old youngest daughter of Michael Jackson’s brother Randy.
I did this song when I was working on my new EP, which is coming out soon in Norway. I felt that the song needed a female vocalist and Genevieve was the first one I came to think of. So I called her up and she said yes.

When are you releasing your album?
Sometime this summer. The album is personal and is about my life. My life is insane but I hope that people will listen to what I have to say. Now I have recorded a song with Shontelle. My life is like a film, I’ve seen a lot.

Is it a good thing to always be linked to Michael Jackson?
It’s mostly positive, people will always have expectations but I don’t try to live up to them.

What do you say to all the controversy surrounding him – bankruptcy, child molestation charges and that he changed his looks so much?
They pissed me off. Most of it are lies. But Michael used to say ”The bigger the star, the bigger the target,” so he was used to it. But another thing that makes me angry is that when he died, people who earlier spread rumours about him now would praise him.

In your eulogy to Michael Jackson, you wrote that you promise to make him proud. How does it feel that he doesn’t get to see your breakthrough?
I didn’t mean that as an artist, music wasn’t on my mind then. I lost my lust to dance and sing but I gained it back around last summer, but then it wasn’t about music. I meant the way he raised me, I wanted to make him proud. I don’t know if he would be proud of me today but I hope so. Michael always said to me ”Go for your dreams.”

..ich weis nicht, ich urteile jetzt mal nicht so schnell über ihn. Ist es eigentlich definitiv belegt, dass er es nicht ist, Michaels Sohn?..Ich meine es könnte doch sein, und es könnte doch geheim bleiben sollen..und dann wäre es doch ok, wie er sich verhält. (Ich stell mir nur gerade vor, er wäre es, und Michael hätte nie gewollt, dass es bekannt wird, warum auch immer..) Und wenn er nicht ist, könnte diese Antwort auch heissen, er will sich einfach nicht mehr zu dem Thema äussern, weil auch wenn er nein sagt, gibts doch wieder Leute, die das anzweifeln würden, es würde trotzdem weiter spekuliert, (oder hat eine Aussage von Michael , wenn er sich zu irgendeinem Gerücht über sich äusserte, jemals dazu geführt, dass nicht weiter darüber spekuliert wurde, als hätte er garnichts dazu gesagt)... ich denke nur, alles ist möglich... und es würde mich nicht stören, ob ers ist oder nicht..

Maya mich würde es auch nicht stören wenn Michael noch ein Kind hätte. Aber glaubst Du allen Ernstes Michael hätte ihn dann nicht offiziell als Sohn anerkannt und auch in seinem Testament bedacht. Er hätte alles dran gesetzt dies zu tun.

Und Omar wird durch seine Mutter auch 100%ig darüber aufgeklärt sein, dass er nicht MJ`s Sohn sein kann. Könnte es eine Möglichkeit diesbezüglich geben weil da mal eine Beziehung bestanden hätte, dann bin ich mir allerdings auch 100%ig sicher, dass Omer einen Vaterschaftstest beantragt hätte, denn auch ein Omar würde nicht auf sein Pflichtanteil im Erbe verzichten.

Von daher finde das eine üble Masche auch Michael Kindern gegenüber Gerüchte zu streuen: Vielleicht bin auch noch Michaels Kind.

finde ich aber unlogisch, denn nur eine klare Antwort kann Gerüchte beenden und in diesem Fall liegt es in seiner Hand diese zu beenden oder am Kochen zu halten.

Da habe ich mich wahrscheinlich tats. überzogen ausgedrückt. Du hast Recht, dass es ansonsten ja wirklich in Ordnung ist was er sagt. Aber es ärgert mich halt, dass er das nicht klarstellt.
In dieser Beziehung verhält er sich nicht richtig.
