Die erste ITV-Reunion-Reality- Show, die mehrere Bands bei Comebacks begleitet wird am 6. Februar ausgestrahlt. In einer der Folgeshows wird über den Aufstieg und Fall der 3Ts berichtet.
Die Interviews dazu wurden in Californien im Januar aufgenommen und die Brüder berichten warum sie so eine lange Pause hatten und welche Hürden sie nehmen mussten.
Das Big Reunion-Concert mit den 3Ts und den anderen teilnehmenden Bands wird am 21. Februar im Eventim Apollo Hammersmith in London stattfinden. Ausschnitte daraus werden in der finalen Sendung am 27. März gezeigt.

3T.com reports: Taj, Taryll and TJ spent three weeks in the UK, along with members of the bands A1, Damage, Eternal, Girl Thing and 5th Story to record a brand new series of The Big Reunion. The Big Reunion tells the story of these six bands getting back together and working towards performing at The Big Reunion concert in 8 episodes.

3T’s story
The first episode of The Big Reunion airs on ITV2 on February 6th. In one of the following episodes, 3T’s story is featured. In that episode the brothers reveal their story about the rise and “fall” of 3T. In interviews that were shot at home in California early January 2014, the T’s explain Why they were put in pause for so long and talk about the hurdles they have overcome.

The Big Reunion live concert with live stage performances by 3T and the other participating bands is on February 21st at Eventim Apollo Hammersmith in London. Footage of this concert will be aired by ITV2 in the final episode of The Big Reunion 2014 on the 27th of March. Tickets go on sale very soon and are expected to sell out in minutes.

Taj gab der The Sun (bzw. sind die Zitate von ihm offensichtlich dort entnommen) schon einige Einsichten warum die Karriere der 3T einen Einbruch erlitt und warum es so lange dauert bis sie zurückkommen:

Da war das Nipplegat von Tante Janet und sie mussten sie verteidigen, sie konnten ein Album nicht veröffentlich wegen des Streites in 2001 von ihrem Onkel mit Sony und als sie es schließlich veröffentlichten war ihr Onkel mitten im Prozess und viele Radiostationen und die Presse berührten es nicht. Und ihr Versuch als Gruppe wieder zurückzukommen wurde durch den Tod des Onkels erschüttert. Dieser passierte am 1. Tag wo sie wieder zurück im Studio waren. Seitdem lag ihr Fokus auf Michaels Kinder. "Indem wir die Big Reunion machen können wir unseren Fans erklärten warum es so lang dauerte. Ich möchte nicht das es wie Jammern kling. Es ist wie es ist."

The Big Reunion’s 3T: Aunt Janet Jackson’s boob wardrobe malfunction at Super Bowl ended our pop career

3T, who will be appearing on The Big Reunion next month, have said that their aunt Janet Jackson’s antics at the Super Bowl ten years ago put the brakes on their pop careers.

Janet hit headlines in 2004 when her performance with Justin Timberlake ended with her infamous nipple flash when JT removed a piece of her costume to reveal her boob.

While it generated tons of publicity for Janet, it didn’t help 3T who had to defend Janet’s performance instead of focusing on their tour.

Things only went downhill from there, as 3T’s songs were dropped from radio playlists and sponsorship deals.

Taj told The Sun: ‘The media always has a field day with the Jackson name. It’s something you learn to live with, and the “Nipplegate” thing is a perfect example. My aunt got it bad, but Justin was perfectly fine. That’s just the way the world is for us.’

The Jackson name also hounded them in 2001 when they were prevented from releasing an album with Sony, who were in a legal battle with their uncle – Michael Jackson – at the time.

3T also suffered when Michael was arrested on child abuse charges, despite later being cleared.

‘It’s happened so many times’ Taj went on, ‘We finally got our album released but it was at the same time that Uncle Michael was on trial, and a lot of radio stations and press wouldn’t touch us.’

The trio – Taj, Taryll and TJ – became the second-biggest selling band in Europe in 1996 after The Spice Girls when their album Brotherhood sold three million copies.

Their attempt at regrouping was rocked by the news of Michael Jackson’s death, which happened on their first day of recording. They have dedicated their time to their family, which meant that the revival of their pop career was put on hold.

‘Since then, our focus has been on looking after our cousins. By doing Big Reunion, we can let our fans know Why it’s taken so long. I don’t want to sound like we’re complaining. It is what it is.’

Nun ja für mich alles ein wenig übertrieben und und seit Michaels Freispruch vergingen ja dann auch wieder 4 Jahre bis sich gerade zum ersten Mal wieder in Studio trafen? und seit Michaels Tod wiederum fast 5 Jahre. Also ganz ehrlich, auch wenn 1 Bruder seit 1,5 Jahren Co-Vormund ist, ist er damit ja nicht 24 h beschäftigt, zu Mal er diese ohnehin nicht täglich sieht und mehrere Autostunden mit seiner Familie entfernt wohnt. Als Mensch ist TJ meines Erachtens ein lieber Kerl mit guten Absichten, aber keiner der sich gegen die Familiendynamiken stellt und sich letztendlich in diesen ergiebt (zum Schaden der Kinder).

Aber dieses Projekt sehe ich auch eher als postiven Versuch berufl. wieder einen gewissen Anschluss zu finden.

Wobei ich ergänzend auch noch sagen muss, es ist vor den beschriebenen Geschehnissen viel Zeit vergangen. Zur Erinnerung sollte man vielleicht sagen, dass 3T 95/96 ihren Höhepunkt hatten wo sie von Michael promotet wurden und es auch featuring MJ-Projekte gab. Michael hat sie danach im übrigen auch von seinem Label MJJ-Productions genommen. Und danach war der Erfolg weg, der sich hauptsächlich auf die UK fixierte.

Aber ich möchte keineswegs ihren Comeback-Versuch madig machen. Was aber nicht gefällt ist die angeführte Argumentation warum den der Erfolg wegblieb, denn da sind in erster Linie offensichtlich nur andere beteiligt und zuletzt sogar Michaels Kinder. Zudem ist mir nicht ganz klar warum die Sun als Sprechorgan genutzt wird.

Big Reunion's TJ Jackson on being co-guardian to Michael Jackson's kids

The Big Reunion's TJ Jackson has spoken about being a co-guardian to Michael Jackson's children, Paris, Prince and Blanket.

TJ and his brother's Taj and Taryll have Come together again as 3T for the programme and their uncle Michael's kids will even feature in next week's show.

Appearing on Lorraine today, TJ told Kate Garraway that their main focus for the last four-and-a-half years has been on their cousins, who he looks after alongside Michael's mother.

Viewers were also shown a clip of next week's Big Reunion, which showed Prince at TJ's LA home while relaxing with other family members.

TJ said: "We lost our mother at young ages too, and that's a very hard thing to get over, so when my uncle passed, my brothers and I, we told our grandmother
we'll be there for her and do everything we can to help her and the kids.
TJ sagt: "Wir haben unsere Mutter in jungem Alter verloren und es war schwer drüber hinwegzukommen, so als mein Onkel starb sagten meine Brüder und ich, wir sagten meiner Großmutter wir werden für sie da sein und alles machen um ihr und den Kinder zu helfen.

"It's been hard, it's been tough, this is Why it's taken us so long to come out [into the spotlight again] as well, because our focus has been them, to make sure they're back on track and adjusting as best as they can."

Kate then asked how the childen are doing, to which TJ replied: "They're doing really well… it's a hard position they're in but they're doing well."

3T rose to fame in 1995 with their debut single 'Anything'. The following year, the trio joined up with Michael and released their duet 'Why', which like their first single, charted at No 2 in the UK.

Tonight, the lads will take to the stage alongside their fellow Big Reunion bands - Damage, Girl Thing, 5th Story, Eternal and A1 - for a one-off concert at London's Hammersmith Apollo.

But TJ, Taj and Taryll admit it will "emotional", as Michael had such a strong influence in their music.
Aber TJ, Tai und Taryll geben zu es wird "emotional" (über die Rückkehr auf die Bühne) weil Michael so einen starken Einfluss in ihrer Musik hatte.

"There's going to be a lot of emotions up there on stage, a lot has happened since the last time we were on stage," Taryll says.

"Just being in front of the UK audience is so special, because this is where is really started for us. Our first single did very well, then onto the next, we feel like this is our second home.

"Our emotions from our uncle and our mother, it all comes together and it just takes over."

Interestingly, 3T seemed to skirt around the exact reason Why they disappeared from the spotlight in the 90s and cryptically blamed "outside forces".

Taryll "We've always continued to do music, it was more politics that prevented us to continue our career." Taj added: "Yeah, outside forces."

Interessanterweise schien 3T den genauen Grund zu kennen warum sie verschwanden aus dem Rampenlicht in den 90er Jahren machten kryptisch "äußere Kräfte" verantwortlich.

Taryll "Wir haben immer weiter Musik gemacht, es war mehr die Politik, die uns daran gehindert hat, unsere Karriere fortsetzen." Taj fügte hinzu: "Ja, Kräfte von außen."

Das ist die Folge mit Prince.
Das ist ein"kleines" Familienzusammentreffen bevor die 3T nach UK aufbrechen. So habe ich es verstanden.
Das geht ja da wie auf einem Bahnhof zu.

Hier ist ein Gif aus dem Video mit Michael:

Wie man es fertig bringt rund 17 Jahre "out of showbuisiness" fast nur rund um die Ereignisse von MJ inclusive der Erziehung von Michaels Kindern (die letzten 5 Jahre) zu erklären ist schon bemerkenswert. Ok. Nippelgate und Prozess um den Tod der Mutter wurden auch noch erwähnt. Auch intressant, dass Vater Tito verschwinded geringe bis gar keine Erwähnung findet insbesondere bei Entscheidungen wie sollen die 3 schon als Kinder ins Showbuisiness starten, Auffangen nach Scheidung der Eltern und schließlich nach dem Tod der Mutter im Gegensatz zu MJ.

Das hier ist übrigens eine ganz gute Zusammenfassung. Weiß jemand wo die 3 nach der Scheidung der Eltern 1988 lebten (TJ war damals 11). Bei Tito oder bei der Mutter?

The Big Reunion: 27 things we learned from 3T, Eternal and A1

There's just one band left to meet properly on The Big Reunion - yes, it's time for 3T to step up to the plate with talk of their aunt's nipples, being a Jackson and intense games of Pictionary. As if that wasn't enough, this episode also saw Eternal and A1 meeting Up again, so it was packed full of juice. Read on to find out what we learned from the instalment...

1. 3T really were properly successful back in the day.
Yes, yes, they had the Jackson connection, but seriously - in 1996 they were ranked second only to the Spice Girls as the biggest-selling group in Europe. That's intense. Of course, it basically ran in their veins, and there was super cute home video footage of them as children having a go at the old music thing.

2. Michael Jackson refused to let 3T break into showbusiness as children.
The guys say that the King of Pop taught them a lot, but one thing he didn't do was let them get into the business too early. Adorably, Taryll revealed that they used to pretend to be the Jackson Five ("Sometimes I would be Randy and Jackie...") but Michael wouldn't let them grab on to a record deal when they were Too young. "He wanted us to enjoy our childhood," TJ explained. That's both sweet and sad, because it suggests Michael didn't really enjoy his own childhood fame, doesn't it?

3. 3T's career was unexpectedly halted, volume one
The guys' mum Dee Dee "spearheaded" their career plans when they were kids, Taj said, but things got shaken up when she divorced their dad Tito in 1988. "I was 11 years old, living in a fairytale, everything great, and it came to a screeching halt," TJ said. But Michael was there to help them out.

4. 3T's career was unexpectedly halted, volume two - and this one is a real tragedy.
This was so hard to watch, but 3T signed a record deal in 1992 (TJ was just 14), and with their album two-thirds written in 1994, tragedy struck. Their mum was found dead in suspicious circumstances. Unsurprisingly, the boys decided that music wasn't really their priority at that point. "I couldn't cry like I wanted to cry in front of them," Taj said. "I had to be the strong one, the older brother, like she told me to be." That is just so sad. What a terrible thing to go through. Again, Michael was a source of comfort for them, and Taryll said he kept them motivated by reminding them to make their mum proud.

5. For some reason, all anyone cared about when 3T started out was their uncle.
In 1996, the guys decided to release an album and single... and guess what? The record label wanted them to release 'Why', which featured one Michael Jackson. Good on the boys for refusing and getting 'Anything' out there, though. Still, that didn't stop the MJ talk: "There was always something they wanted from our uncle in order to play us," TJ said. "Like, 'We'll play your song if you get us a giveaway to Neverland for our listeners'." Harsh. No big surprise that 3T skipped America and went to Europe, is it?

6. 3T's career was unexpectedly halted, volume three
Again, it's totally understandable, but 3T kind of put the whole music thing on the back burner in 1997, when they got the trial date for the wrongful death case regarding their mother. "It was hard to relive all that and be face to face with that guy," Taryll said, in what must be a huge understatement. When her ex-boyfriend was convicted of second degree murder, obviously it took a long time for the boys to get motivated by music again.

7. 3T's career was unexpectedly halted, volume four
Yeah, these guys really don't have much luck. After Michael inspired them to get back in the studio, they began work on their new album, picked a single and were all ready to go... and then Michael publicly went to war with Sony head Tommy Mottola ("He's mean, he's racist, and he's very, very, very devilish"). 3T ended up as "pawns in a huge chess game", as TJ put it, and were basically stuck on their label. Luckily, they could fall back on auntie Janet, who got them free of Sony - but they couldn't take their album with them. "We didn't do anything wrong," Taryll sighed. "It's just... we are who we are." At this point, they all felt pretty depressed. TJ "checked out", and Taj lost his "identity".
16. 3T's career was unexpectedly halted, volume five
After leaving Sony, 3T decided to sign to a label in France and started winning over fans again with their cover of 'Stuck on You'. But, in another display of their terrible luck, it all just happened to coincide with... Michael Jackson's trial (he was later acquitted). Suddenly, no-one wanted to play 3T's songs or videos. "It literally hit a brick wall," Taj sighed.

17. 3T's career was unexpectedly halted, volume six
"We have a song that's number one on the radio and all they want to talk about is your aunt's nipple." That's the kind of sentence that makes me love The Big Reunion. But it was bad news for 3T, who - just after the whole MJ trial was over and things were back on track - had to deal with Janet's breast-flop at the Super Bowl. Dearie me.

18. 3T were rocked by the death of their uncle.
Michael Jackson's death obviously shocked the world, but think about what it was like for his relatives. Taryll is obviously still devastated because he could barely say anything, apart from that "everything stopped". Taj felt like he lost another of his role models, and Taryll said it brought back memories of their mother's death - which is Why they made sure to look after Michael's kids. TJ said Michael was his "prime saviour", which is Why he became co-guardian of Michael's three children.

19. 3T are all family men now.
Taj is now married to a triplet ("They were named by their mother, we were named by our mother; I'm two years apart from Taryll and five years from TJ, and she's two minutes from one and five minutes from another"). Taryll isn't very interested in marriage, but he's been with his partner for ages and they have a couple of sons who are into the drums. ("I see how it happens," Taryll said. "I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I see how it starts.") And TJ has three kids with his wife ("They are my joy, they are my happiness"). Aww.

20. Taj might be from a dynasty of musicians but he gets horrible stage fright.
Taj admitted that he always feels sick before going on stage - Taj was a "complete fabrication", who hid behind his braids because he was projecting who he wanted to be but wasn't. His explanation of being two people - Toriano and Taj - made perfect sense to us, but obviously Taryll and TJ ripped it out of him, the meanies ("Wait, who am I talking to now?"). Brothers, who'd have 'em?

21. The Jackson family loves a good game of Pictionary.
Before the 3T boys headed to the UK for The Big Reunion, they had a big family gathering - complete with Katherine Jackson, Jermajesty and Prince, among others. And how do the Jacksons bond? Over Girls vs Boys Pictionary. "The guys have never lost," Taryll revealed. The boys did, indeed, win when Taj was speaking to camera. "They didn't even need me," he smirked, before joining them for a big hug-and-jump-in-a-circle celebration. Can we go party at the Jacksons', please?
