    the partnership with Sony Mobile announced this morning at the Mobile
    World Congress in Barcelona. We are thrilled with the use of the new
    solo Michael Jackson recording, “Slave To The Rhythm,” which is featured
    in the 90 second online spot for the new Xperia Z2 phone. For those of

    Ich frage mich warum die dafür so ein Auffwand machen, selbst wenn das mit Werbung für ein Neues Album wäre (was ich mir noch nicht vorstellen kann) finde ich das iwie enttäuschend. Aber gut abwarten und Tee trinken.

    Sony working with Michael Jackson on 'special' Xperia Z2 smartphone launch

    Sony has announced that it has worked with the estate of Michael Jackson on the launch of its new Xperia Z2 smartphone.


    An advert for the handset featuring Jackson's unreleased track 'Slave 2 The Rhythm' was shown to press at MWC.

    The song was worked on during Jackson's Dangerous sessions and completed in 1998, before leaking onto the internet in 2010. A version featuring vocals from Justin Bieber emerged online in August 2013.


    Buyers of the smartphone are reportedly being treated to 'something special' around Jackson's music.


    What exactly it is remains to be seen, but given Sony Music's ties with Jackson's current music library, it is possible users will see tracks bundled with the device.


    The smartphone is unique in that it features a digital noise cancelling processor in the handset, providing improved sound quality in noisy environments with its included headphones.


    Sony has promised more information on the Michael Jackson news over the coming weeks.

    Und ja, enttäuschend finde ich's auch, besonders nach dem Aufwand diese "Ankündigung" extra per Mail zu verschicken. Was ist mit einem neuen Album (an dem bitte nicht zu viel rumgewerkelt wird, am liebsten wären mir Demosongs, so wie Michael sie hinterlassen hat :bettel: ), dem Freddie Mercury Duett, der Ebony Dokumentation, ...?

    Ich denke es ist ein cooler Werbemove. Eine Werbead weltweit veröffentlicht unterlegt mit einem unveröffentlichten MJ-Song. Der AD hat schon 140000 Clicks.




    Und das Album kommt sicher, das sind Vorschritte. Und ich hoffe auch auf die Demos auf dem Album, aber man sollte vielleicht auch akzeptieren, dass man mit Demos nicht unbedingt ein breites neues Publikum anspricht. Die sind etwas für die Fans.

    Damit magst du recht haben, aber es gibt sicher auch noch eine Menge Songs, die von Michael fertiggestellt wurden, wenn auch nicht veröffentlicht. Siehe "Slave to the rhythm", ich verstehe immer noch nicht warum ein Justin Bieber oder Timbaland sich daran zu schaffen machen muss.
    Ich sehe ein, dass man ein breites Publikum erreichen möchte und wenn diese Werbead dazu beiträgt, schön. Aber ich verstehe beim besten Willen diese Remixe nicht, die mehr nach dem Producer als nach Michael klingen. Michael hat immer zeitgenössische Musik gemacht, ohne sich dabei einem Trend anzupassen. Wenn Timbaland Michaels Songs bearbeitet, erwarte ich von ihm, dass er Michaels Kunst respektiert, und nicht einen "Timbaland-Sound" hinzufügt.


    Eine gute Lösung wäre in meinen Augen ein Album mit Songs in der neuen Version, und nochmal die "rohen" Demos. Ob das finanziell lohnend und machtbar fürs Estate ist, weiss ich allerdings nicht...?

    Wäre für mich auch die beste Variante. Vielleicht komte es ja so. Wenn man den Vorberichten einger immer gut informierter Fans wie Damain Shields (oder die meinen das sie es sind) denn Glauben schenken kann, dann wird es so sein.
    Und das Justin Bieber nicht beauftragt war Michaels Song zu bearbeiten wissen wir auch.


    Timbaland ist sicher der Produzent oder ein Produzent vom neuen Album. Und ich kann auch nur sagen, dass auch Michael sicher immer akutelle Produzenten suchte, Teddy Riley, Jerkins, Will i.am.


    Edit: Ob es wirklich so viele in Gänze fertiggestellte Songs gibt weiß ich nicht. Es ist Fakt, dass Michael einen Song anfing, jahrelang liegen ließ und dann weiter machte. Dementsprechend gibt es mit Sicherheit viele Songs in unfertigem Zustand.

    Hmmm... einerseits finde ich auch, dass das aus Werbesicht ein guter Zug ist, da Smartphones DAS In-Produkt überhaupt sind und sie passen zu Michael als Wunderwerk der Kommunikationstechnologie, die Menschen zusammenbringt. Andererseits stehen die gräßlichen Bedingungen, unter welchen Smartphones und andere IT-Produkte global hergestellt, vermarktet und entsorgt werden, in krassem Widerspruch zu allen Werten, für die er steht. Das stört mich sehr...

    biba dann musst du aber Michael auch im wiederspruch sehen, er selbst hatte ja auch ein Smartphone.
    Michael hatte auch wiedersprüche in seinem Leben und hielt sich auch nicht immer daran was er sonst versuchte vor zu leben, er war ein Mensch und hat diesbezüglich fehler gemacht wie wir alle. Ob er gegen diese Werbung was hätte ist ne gute Frage, sie ist gut gemacht und ich glaube das Michael da eher schauen würde wie es gemacht ist, aber ich glaube das ist eine Frage die keiner beantworten kann, jeder muss wohl in diesem Falle erwägen ob er es mag oder nicht

    Ich finde solche Zitate hier ziemlich traurig, die die Presse von Fankommentaren aufschnappt.

    Eingefleischte Michael Jackson-Fans zeigten sich von der Promo-Aktion allerdings eher unbeeindruckt, denn es heißt der Song sei bereits seit einer Weile im Umlauf. Auf Twitter schrieb ein Jackson-Anhänger: „Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh was eine Enttäuschung!!!! Warum veröffentlicht ihr kein neues Album!!! Ihr habt das Material dafür! @michaeljackson“. Ein weiterer Fan antwortete darauf: „Genau!!! Ich habe den Song schon seit 2010, sogar in drei verschiedenen Versionen, hah!“



    Wirklich traurig, wenn Hard-core-fans jammern, dass der Estate es wagt einen bereits geleakten Song, den nur die harte Fan-Basis kennt noch offiziell zu veröffentlichen, anstatt sich darüber zu freuen, dass Michaels unveröffentlichte Songs einen breiten Publikum zugänglich gemacht werden. Das sind für mich wirklich selbstsüchtige Fans.

    Der Clip hat übrigens schon 3, 6 Mio. Clicks. Laut Sky-News wird MJs neues Album Ende April herauskommen und zunächst vor allgemeiner Albumveröffentlichung exclusiv über das Smart-Phone erhältlich sein. Ähnlich hatte es Jay-Z zuletzt praktiziert.


    Aber warten wir am besten eine offizielle Presseerklärung ab.

    It is the news Michael Jackson fans have been waiting for - but those desperate for a new album by the King of Pop may have to buy a new mobile phone to hear it.
    Sky News understands Sony Music Entertainment will release an album of the late singer's unreleased material and lost tracks by the end of April.
    However, it will initially be available only as pre-installed music on the Sony Xperia Z2 phone.
    An advert for the Xperia Z2 phone uses a song from the album - a remix of Jackson track 'Slave 2 The Rhythm'.
    The ad features a ballerina dancing with a red sheet, and Sky News sources believe this will form part of the music video.
    The album is being produced by Epic Records, which is owned by Sony, and its chief executive LA Reid is thought to be personally involved.
    It would be the first Jackson album featuring fresh material since 2010's 'Michael'.
    Music journalist Kevin Hughes said Jackson would probably have welcomed the move to release the songs on the smartphone.
    "A couple of years before his death Michael became very interested in YouTube and the future of music and the delivery of it to his fans and how they would purchase or download his music," he told Sky News.
    "Average fans might be initially disappointed but there is such expectation they will do anything to get hold of it so likely they will invest in the phone.
    "It has worked for artists in the past so could do again.
    "But from what I have heard these tracks are such high quality it will definitely get people talking about his music again in 2014."
    Jackson was said to be working on new songs when he died in 2009 and rumours of an album surfaced last year.
    Renowned producer Timbaland is known to be working on several tracks.
    His official DJ, Freestyle Steve, tweeted last year: "So last night I heard some of the new tracks Timbaland is doing for the King of Pop … WOW!"
    Sony's official price for the Xperia Z2 is £599 in the UK and is expected to cost about $600 in the US.
    The company is not the first to use music to sell phones.
    Rapper Jay Z made the first million copies of his 2013 album 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' available for free download to Samsung customers.

    Für mich bisher der schwächste Song, nichtsdestotrotz mit einem guten Beat und einer harmonischen Inszenierung von Michaels Stimme. Und allemal besser als die Bieber-Version :-D MORGEN ist es endlich soweit!!! Das wird das Album des Jahres... :juhuu: :michael1:
